Before the finish line

Updated: Jul 21, 2023

The cheering crowd, the medals clanging…we all live for the rush of completing the race, but have you ever wondered what happens to get to that picture perfect finish?

Besides the months of preparation, pulling permits, rounding up volunteers, or the sleepless night before the event, race day is a ball of excitement and anxiousness all rolled up into one.

The dedicated crew is up at 4:00am, before the rooster even crows, already getting the site prepared in order to provide you with an amazing race experience. Whether the temperature is 20 degrees Fahrenheit with blistering winds to 90 degrees Fahrenheit with 100% humidity, this crew endures it all.

Everything meticulously planned from the right placement of the water table, ensuring the course markers are still there from the day before, to even having the Port O Potty equipped with toilet paper may seem trivial, but you best believe those needs are thought about and taken care of.

All the behind the scenes may not be glitz and glamour, but it all leads to that fabulous photo finish with medals and smiles.

We wouldn’t have it any other way.
