JOSC Trout Fishing Series

Series Rules

Rules and Regulations:

  • All North Carolina state fishing regulations apply

  • Anyone under the age of 18 must fish with a legal guardian

  • Teams can fish any tournaments they wish but must participate in at least three of the four events to qualify for the series awards

  • If you fish all four events, your top three scores will be taken

  • Each team will consist of 1-4 anglers

  • Only those listed as part of that team can participate in the events and be eligible for the series payouts. Example: Joe, Bill, Fred, and Sue are listed as the team. Any or all of them can fish together at the events that make up this series. However, if Bill, Fred, and Sue all have a conflict and can’t fish one weekend, Joe can’t go recruit Alan to fish with him.  Joe would have to fish alone for that event.

  • Those making up this team can’t fish on any other boat in the series or that boat will not be eligible for the year-end payouts. However, they could fish on another boat and be eligible for that individual tournament, but not the series.

  • Series directors will oversee the weighing of all fish at each event in the series

  • At least one representative from each team must attend the captain’s meeting at each tournament

  • Participants must follow the rules of the individual tournaments that make up the series

  • All winners will subject to a polygraph test at the request of the series directors before collecting their prize

  • Winners will be required to complete a W9 before payment

  • Series tiebreakers:

  • Tiebreaker: Best total four fish weight

  • Second tiebreaker: Did boat win big fish at any event and if so, who had the largest?

  • If still tied: Money split evenly

Series points are tallied as follows from each tournament:

First place – 100 points

Second place – 99 points

Third place – 98 points

Fourth place – 97 points

and so on...

Big fish for each tournament – 1 bonus point

Series Prize Pool:

$7,000

Payouts:

1st – $3,000 2nd - $2,000 3rd - $1,000 4th - $500

Series prizes to be awarded 30 minutes following the awards of the final event.
